I thought it came from India, because it's cooler & usually thinner than regular cotton so it's a good tropical fabric. <BR/>How about houndstooth? I had a seersucker shirt years ago, and I loved it, because I didn't have to iron it, it was supposed to look that way. As to where Seersucker comes from language wise, I'm going with French.
